Metjoeww, also known by his real name Matthew, is a Belgian (West-Flemish) singer-songwriter who is slowly working his way up in the music scene. Having been influenced by groundbreaking bands such as Evanescence, Within Temptation, Linkin Park, Breaking Benjamin, Korn, Foo Fighters, … but also by the 00s pop scene and his classical influences by taking piano lessons and singing lessons – he’s now getting ready – MORE THAN EVER – to start releasing his own unique sound.
When it comes to lyrics he loves to approach the storytelling in a very poetic, yet relatable way. Many of his stories come from personal feelings, sleepless nights and endlessly overthinking things – yet the music, words and melody hit you exactly in the right place – especially hearing his stories live when he can channel his emotions and project them into the moment.
Besides his teacher role he loves to get up on stage and persuade the audience by showcasing his wide vocal range. Prepare yourself to hear some low bass notes, intertwining with his tenor vocals and welcoming you to his universe where he loves to add some distortion (grain) to his voice – introducing you to his rock/nu-metal vocals.
Next to his ongoing rock/nu-metal chapter, Metjoeww also loves to compose instrumental (piano) music – ideally with a dramatic, dark and/or cinematic twist. His goal is to score a movie one day in which he can showcase his musical ideas.
In the past he has already had the chance to work with Dave Eggar, a world-known professional cellist and a good friend to his idol – Amy Lee – who in all fairness is the main reason he fell in love with piano in the first place.
